Mike Storkey, DTM, 2014-15 First Vice President
Mike Storkey, DTM
For many Toastmasters members, the only Toastmasters experience they have is confined to the four walls of their club.
During this powerful keynote, Toastmasters International First Vice President Mike Storkey, DTM, challenges members to step outside their club and reap the full benefits of being a member by fully participating in the Toastmasters program.
The club is where we get to learn the basic skills of communication and leadership. But outside the club -in our community, business and family life -is where we get the opportunity to put what we have learned to practical use.
By utilizing these skills, we will inevitably attract opportunities for further personal growth that a club-only environment cannot provide.
Are you prepared to step out, step up and sieze these opportunities? Are you getting the full value out of your membership?

Everyone's a Mentor
A practical look at mentoring which is such an integral part of Toastmasters. This education session looks at the role of a mentor on an individual level, club level and beyond. You may well be a role model for another without ever being aware of it. Becoming a DTM should stand for "dedicated to mentoring" as well as a distinguished toastmaster, a responsibility to which we should all aspire.
