C&L Award Recipient Announced
2014-2015 Toastmasters District 54 Communication & Leadership Award Recipient
Twice a year, at its spring and fall conferences, Toastmasters District 54 presents a Communication and Leadership Award to a carefully selected person in the community who is an outstanding communicator and leader. The C&L Award winner for Fall 2014 is Jerry Basel, director of POWER Connection.
POWER Connection is a faith-based community organization that was formed to “Empower People for Life,” providing job skills training, vocational training and many resources that positively impact the lives of those they reach. POWER is an acronym for “Providing Opportunities for Work, Education and Retraining.”
A 27-year veteran Assistant Pastor, Jerry left a staff position at his church to be the founder and full time director of POWER Connection. He is responsible for its daily operations, strategy and continued focus on impacting the lives of residents of Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Jerry Basel was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a 1976 graduate of Central Bible College, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Bible and Theology with minors in psychology and history. He has been actively involved in leadership positions throughout his life.
Jerry will be honored at the Toastmasters District 54 Fall Conference Saturday luncheon on Nov. 8, 2014, in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
